Youth Activities

Ages 8 & up. This is a nature immersion program in which kids learn about nature and wildlife in a hands-on way. Pre-registration is required. No Fee.

ANIMAL ADAPTATIONS - Check out some animal adaptations and learn how they are able to survive and thrive.

WATER! - Learn about the water cycle, check out the creek and find out how to help conserve our water.

BIRDS, BIRDS, BIRDS! - Learn about different birds, their calls and how to identify them

NATURE JOURNALING - Create a nature journal, and find some cool plants and animals to journal about. Slow down and get a chance to look and listen to the sounds of nature.

Greenway Adventures

Youth Activities

Ages 3 & up. Using the greenways as our classroom, we will explore critters in their habitat, adding in fun and creative activities. Parents are encouraged to join in on the fun. Each program will meet at the designated trail for approximately 1 hour. Pre-registration is required.

HIDING IN PLAIN SIGHT - Learn about camouflage as we walk and play some games on the greenway.

Couch to 5K

Adult Fitness Classes

The City of Concord Parks and Recreation Department is taking the wellness program to the next level with the COUCH to 5K CHALLENGE.  This group training and exercise program does not require any running experience.  It is designed to encourage, motivate and challenge the individual to compete with his/her peers.  There is a $15.00 registration fee. The final goal is to run the Bunny Run 5K in April. You will need to become a part of the Motivate Wellness Concord Page on Facebook.

  • Participants must have a head lamp during the first month of training
  • Group training plan provided
  • No running experience necessary
